The LA Phil closed its 2026 summer at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, September 27, when Jon Batiste played a 7:30 p.m. show as part of the KCRW Festival. The amphitheater's calendar didn't go quiet after that. Tomorrow, Monday, October 5, the first night of The Hayley Williams Show starts a run of concerts that the Bowl's own transportation selector carries through Steve Lacy on Saturday, November 21.
If you live in Outpost, Hollywood Dell, Whitley Heights, Beachwood Canyon or along the Cahuenga Pass, the change that matters is who presents the show. The fall concerts belong to a different presenter, and some of the rules at the gate change with it. The parking, street-closure and feedback systems that neighbors rely on in July are still running.
A record summer hands off to a second presenter
The summer the LA Phil just finished was a big one. In late September, Beverly Press reported that the 2026 classical program sold more than 158,000 tickets across 17 programs, 13% above the previous summer record set in 2017. That figure covers the classical programs only, not every ticket sold at the Bowl.
The Bowl's 2026 season announcement explains the handoff. Concerts outside the LA Phil summer season are promoted by Live Nation-Hewitt Silva. The Bowl calls these "Lease Events," and its calendar flags the ones with different rules as "Special House Rules Apply." The listing for My Chemical Romance on October 31 shows both. It names Live Nation | Hewitt Silva as promoter, carries the house-rules notation, and lists a 7:00 p.m. start with gates opening at 5:30 p.m.
The two presenters also work together on the neighborhood side. In 2025, the Bowl's Community Advisory Board worked with both the LA Phil and Live Nation Hewitt Silva to direct $125,000 in neighborhood grants, funded by those two organizations, into the blocks around the Bowl. The board also worked with them to produce a "Sound Information" sheet for neighbors.
The October calendar, as currently posted
Here is the Bowl's October lineup as the official calendar showed it in early October. Note one correction to earlier listings: the calendar puts Miley on October 16 and 18 and SmartLess on October 17 only.
| Date | Show |
|---|---|
| Mon, Oct 5 and Tue, Oct 6 | The Hayley Williams Show |
| Thu, Oct 8 | Empire of the Sun |
| Fri, Oct 9 | Mac DeMarco |
| Sat, Oct 10 and Sun, Oct 11 | Jack Johnson |
| Thu, Oct 15 | Cynthia Erivo |
| Fri, Oct 16 and Sun, Oct 18 | MILEY: BASS PERSUADES |
| Sat, Oct 17 | SmartLess |
| Wed, Oct 21; Fri, Oct 23; Sat, Oct 24 | My Chemical Romance |
| Fri, Oct 30 and Sat, Oct 31 | My Chemical Romance |
That makes 15 show nights in October, with back-to-back runs that include weeknights. Four of the five My Chemical Romance dates fall on a Friday or Saturday, including Halloween.
What changes at the gate
The biggest practical difference for anyone walking down with a picnic is the drinks rule. At LA Phil-presented events, outside wine and beer are allowed. At Lease Events marked "Special House Rules Apply," the Bowl's house rules say:
"outside alcohol is not permitted."
Wine and beer are sold inside. You can bring non-alcoholic drinks in factory-sealed plastic bottles of one liter or less. Glass and aluminum cans aren't allowed, whatever is in them, and that includes drinking glasses. Reusable bottles like a Nalgene can come in empty and be filled at water stations on the grounds.
Food rules don't change. You can bring your own food to any Bowl event. Coolers, baskets and bags must fit under your seat or in your box, with a limit of 15 inches wide, 15 inches high and 22 inches long. The Bowl has 14 picnic areas, and some open four hours before showtime. Tables are first-come, first-served, and tailgating in the parking lots isn't allowed. Rules are set show by show, so check the event page for the house-rules notation before you pack.
The neighbor tools work in the fall too
Everything the Bowl built for the households around it stays in place after September 27. The Bowl says it serves more than 5,000 neighboring households. These are the tools available to them:
- The show-day text line. You can text questions or feedback during a show to 323-741-5999. Someone monitors it only on show days, from about three hours before the start until about an hour after what the Bowl calls "show break." With 15 show nights in October, it's staffed more often this month than many residents might assume.
- Street-closure text alerts. This separate sign-up covers hard street closures. Registered neighbors get a text on the morning of each closure day.
- Milner and Camrose closures. On busier concert nights, the Bowl may close Milner Road and Camrose Drive to cut down on cut-through traffic. Closures start about two hours before the published show time and end about an hour after the show. These are full closures, open only to emergency vehicles.
- LADOT traffic officers. The Bowl says it works with LADOT to post traffic-control officers at every event and adds more when big crowds are expected. Officers can direct traffic and write parking citations, but they can't cite moving violations.
- A sound system aimed at the seats. For 2026, the Bowl says its new L-Acoustics L1 system points sound toward the audience to reduce spill into the surrounding hills. The traffic-and-sound feedback form on the neighbors page is the way to report how that's working from your street.
Getting there without moving your car
For anyone living below the Bowl, a shuttle can make more sense than giving up a curbside spot. Bowl Shuttles are free if you tap an active Metro TAP card within two hours before boarding. The Bowl directs transit riders to the Metro B Line's Hollywood/Highland station and a free shuttle from Ovation Hollywood.
On the Halloween My Chemical Romance date, Park & Ride and Bowl Shuttle tickets are both $12.45 when bought in advance. Park & Ride sales close at 10 a.m. the day before, and shuttle sales close an hour before the show. That night's shuttle lots are Burbank Metrolink, the LA Zoo, Ovation Hollywood and Ventura Boulevard. Shuttles leave every 15 to 20 minutes starting two and a half hours before the concert. The last one leaves at showtime, and return buses start about 20 minutes after the show ends. Lots and departures can change from concert to concert, so the event page is the reference.
On-site parking is stacked, so you can't leave early. It opens three hours before each event. The posted rate is $55 in Lot A and in Lot D. The Bowl also asks concertgoers not to park on surrounding neighborhood streets and warns they may be ticketed.
Transit use around the Bowl was already going up. The Bowl reports that 2025 was the third year in a row of increased transit use by concertgoers, and that its transportation hub keeps more than 2,000 cars a night off the roads leading in.
The Bowl by day, and the hills around it
The Bowl changes rhythm during the day too. The free Hollywood Bowl Museum is now on off-season hours, open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Saturday through Monday. The Bowl describes its off-season as running from mid-September through June. For a weekday visit with out-of-town guests, that's a quiet window.
Saturday, October 10, is a good example of a show night alongside a neighborhood event. The Outpost Neighborhood Association's flyer lists a free public Fall Block Party from 4 to 7 p.m. at the cul-de-sac at the end of Maravilla Drive, with a live band, a taco truck and a churro truck. Jack Johnson plays the Bowl the same evening. The flyer appeared with a $3,000 grant request on the Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council's September 16 agenda, so confirm details with the association before you go.
Elsewhere in the hills, Councilmember Nithya Raman's office reports that Runyon Canyon's West Trail has reopened after being closed through 2025 to let plants regrow. KTLA reported the reopening in February. The same Council office update says Runyon's new permanent restroom is open to the public. On the other side of the Bowl, Caltrans's $24.3 million pavement rehabilitation of the Cahuenga Pass is scheduled to run through summer 2029, with overnight closures posted in phases.
When a house is close to a major venue, buyers ask about concert nights, street closures and parking, and a calm, accurate answer helps any sale. Barrentine Group helps Hollywood Hills owners explain how their street works on show nights, from the Milner and Camrose closures to the shuttle lots, so buyers hear a clear picture of daily life there. If a sale near the Bowl is on your calendar this fall or next spring, we're glad to start that conversation. Work With Us.
